  • Congratulations Seniors!  You made it.  This is not the end of the year that you imagined, but it does not diminish your accomplishments.  In order to celebrate you today we have two items.  First, Mr. Brown produced a special video to help us all look back on a great year Senior Video. Second, We have displayed two banners on the baseball field fence as a symbol of how proud we are of all of you. Have a great day!

Monday Morning Announcements (5-11-20)
  • Welcome to the last week of the 2019-2020 school year. Remember that teachers will not be adding any new assignments to their Google Classrooms this week. However, teachers may be offering optional bonus activities for you to complete.  These bonus opportunities are a great way to raise your grade before the end of the school year.

  • Seniors:  Your senior surveys are due to Mrs. Merickel today.  Please access and complete the form on her Senior Google Classroom if you haven’t already done so.

  • Students – Please remember that this Wednesday (last name A-M) and Thursday (last name N-Z) will be our material turn in days.  Please make plans to return your materials on your assigned days.  Please see Mr. Maier’s Week 8 message on our school website for more information.

  • FFA members Olivia Bales, Makayla Burch, Malina Chappie, Addy Frohne, Anna Henry, Parker Herrick, Mitch Holscher, Morgan Jackson and Alivia Phillips competed in the virtual Agriscience Fair as part of the Ohio FFA Celebration yesterday. Parker Herrick and Mitch Holscher received a third place award in the area of Natural Resource Systems. Congratulations to all who competed!

  • Seniors:  Do not forget to complete your senior survey and return it to Mrs. Merickel by May 11.  The form is available on Mrs. Merickel’s senior Google Classroom.

  • Students:  Today is the last day that teachers will have any new assignments due.  Next week you need to be sure that you take the time to complete and submit any missing assignments.  All assignments are due by Friday May 15 (Tues. May 12 for seniors).  Students should continue to monitor their teachers Google Classroom next week.  Teachers may be offering some bonus opportunities that could help you raise your grade before the end of the 4th 9 weeks.

Thursday Morning Announcements (5-7-20)
  • This week is the virtual Ohio FFA State Celebration. Yesterday the Houston FFA Chapter was announced as one of the Top 10 Chapters out of the 312 chapters in the state for the 5th year in a row! In addition, FFA officers Liam McKee (Secretary), Hannah Hollinger (Treasurer), and Catryn Mohler (Reporter) were recognized as Gold Rated Officers in the state! Congratulations to these officers and all of the 123 members of the FFA chapter for helping the chapter become one of the best in the state of Ohio!

  • This week is Teacher Appreciation Week!  Thank you to all of our teachers for everything that they do for all of our students.  It cannot be overstated how important our teachers are to the education of our students.  The situation that we find ourselves in now only reinforces that  notion.  Students, I encourage you to reach out to your teachers this week and thank them for everything that they do for you.
