  • The representative from Edison State will be here on Tuesday January 25th. If you would like to meet to discuss plans for CCP or for attending Edison after high school, please make an appointment with Mrs. Merickel.

  • Seniors: there are new scholarships available on the Counselor’s Office section of the school website. Be sure to check them out. They are mostly local scholarships, which will be awarded to students in our county or school, so do not hesitate to take some time to see what is available.   • Seniors: The Workforce Partnership of Shelby County is holding their annual Power Lunch event in February. This event is a unique and excellent opportunity to begin the job search process for after graduation. You will be able to meet with and talk to a wide range of local employers and make connections that will help you not just get a job, but to find a great start to a career with good pay, benefits, and vacation time. Any senior can attend, and the school is providing transportation. A final bonus: all participants get a free catered lunch. There is a link to register, which Mrs. Merickel sent to every Senior via email. Please see her with any questions. The deadline to register is Friday January 28th.

  • Seniors, please check the website for important information concerning the senior slideshow.

  • Roll the Dice will meet after school today until 5. Just Write will have their final practice on Tuesday next week.

  • A reminder that all 8th-grade students will be participating in the Workforce Partnership Ninja Skills Challenge today. 8th-grade students will be called to Mr. McCracken’s lab by group over the intercom. Students in Mr. Bayless’s 2nd period class should be in Ag. Lab now. All 8th-grade students will eat high school lunch today.

  • 8th grade students will also receive their reward for their victory in the homecoming poster competition during lunch.

  • High School students in Mr. Barlage, Mr. Hausfeld, and Mrs. Chappie’s 5th period classes will eat during Jr. High lunch today.

Tuesday Morning Announcements (12-21-21)
  • One of the safest choices a driver and passenger can make is to wear their seat belt. Seat belts save approximately 15,000 lives annually. This morning the FFA passed out winter car safety kits with items student drivers may need if they are in an accident this winter and gave hot chocolate to those who were wearing their seat belts. If you are a student driver and did not receive a winter car safety kit, please stop by Mr. McCracken’s room today.

Friday Morning Announcements (12-17-21)
  • The Student Council is excited to announce that the Homecoming Dance, Disco Fever, will be held tomorrow December 18th from 8:00-11:00 PM. Tickets are $7 apiece and must be purchased from Mrs. Merickel by the end of the day today. No tickets will be sold at the door.

  • Voting for Homecoming King and Queen will take place daily this week during High School lunch. Please stop by the table to cast your vote! UVCC students, you may via email or in-person with Mrs. Reid in the Student Services office.

  • The Homecoming Band Show and Crowning Ceremony will be tonight at 6:00 PM, prior to the Boys Basketball games. Come out and support our Band, the entire Homecoming Court, and see who will be crowned our King and Queen!

  • Christina Raterman, our Edison rep, will be here Friday morning to meet with students who need college advising for either after graduation, or for CCP. Please see Mrs. Merickel by Thursday morning to set up an appointment time.
