    Spring Band and Art Show

    Hardin-Houston Local School will hold the Spring Band and Art Show on Tuesday, April 23rd with the band concert starting in the commons at 6:00 PM and the art show being held in the auxiliary gym from 5:00-8:00 PM. The order of performances will be 5th grade band, 6th grade band, junior high band, 7-12 choir, jazz band, and high school band.

    Teacher of the Year Nominations

    Attention Parents, students, and staff, it’s that time of year to nominate deserving teachers for the Hardin-Houston Golden Teacher award. Each nomination form allows you to nominate one elementary teacher (K-6) and one junior high/high school teacher (7-12).     Congratulations Jackie Earl

    Congratulations to Jackie Earl for breaking the Houston Junior High boys pole vault record with a vault of 10′ 8″ during the Ansonia Cub Relays on Tuesday April 16th. The previous record of 10′ 7″ was set by Dominic Beaver in 2015.

    Career Fair

    The Houston FFA Chapter will host their second Career Fair on Friday, April 19th. The fair will begin at 12:00 PM on and extend to 5 PM that evening. Houston students may visit anytime and outside visitors are welcome from 3:00-5:00 PM. Approximately 30 different companies will be represented.

    Full Time Custodian Position

    Congratulations Alyssa Sweargin

    Congratulations to Alyssa Sweargin. She won the 10th through 12th grade category for the week of April 6th.  Her work will be featured on the Artsonia website from now until April 20th so anyone who wants to view the artwork can. She won a gift certificate and will receive plaque for her artwork. Thank you to all who got online and voted for Alyssa to help her win this award.

    Congratulations Emilee Earl

    Congratulations to Emilee Earl for breaking her own Houston High School girls pole vault record with a vault of 11’3″ during the quad meet at Covington on Tuesday April 9th. Emilee set the previous record of 11′ 0″ at the State Track Meet in Columbus on Friday June 2, 2023.
