    4th – 6th Grade Youth Volleyball Sign-Up

    Attention girls that will be in grades 4-6 in the fall of 2021, Hardin-Houston will be taking part in volleyball league being hosted at Russia this fall. The cost to participate is $30 per girl and includes a uniform t-shirt, equipment, etc. Registration forms and payment must be mailed by June 21st.     Teacher Awards

    Congratulations to Dave Reister and Jill Hein for receiving the Houston JH/HS Golden Teacher Award and the Elementary Golden Teacher Award respectively for the 2020-21 school year. Dave Reister was also recognized for his 38 years of service as he retired at the end of the 2020-21 school year.

    Spring Sports Awards Program 2021

    Houston High School held the Spring Sports Awards Program on Thursday, May 20th. Baseball award winners were Jake Leist with the Best Offensive Player Award, Zavier Ludwig with the Best Defensive Player Award, and Elijah Beaver with the Wildcat Award. Softball award winners were Grace Slade with the Best Offensive Player Award, Megan Maier with the Best Defensive Player Award, and Lainey Peacock with the Wildcat Award. Boys track award winners were Hunter Mowery with Most Points Track, Ethan Funk with Most Points Field, Liam McKee with the Wildcat Award, Cody Selanders with the Russ Richards Award, and Luke Jacobs with the Ryan Mohler Award. Girls track award winners were Ava Knouff with Most Points Track, and Mariah Booher with Most Points Track and the Wildcat Award. Several athletes were recognized for earning All League honors. In baseball, Jake Leist received 1st Team All SCAL,  Elijah Beaver received 2nd Team All SCAL, and Devin Barker, Ryan Ely, and Zavier Ludwig all received honorable mention All SCAL. In softball, Megan Maier received 1st Team All SCAL, Grace Slade and Peyton New both received 2nd Team All SCAL, and Katie Maier received honorable mention All SCAL. In boys track, those receiving 2nd Team All SCAL were Brandon Pollock in the 300m hurdles, Ethan Funk in Discus, and Ethan Davis in the 400m dash. Congratulations to all spring athletes!

    Regional Track Meet

    The varsity boys track team will take part in the Regional Meet at Troy Memorial Stadium on Wednesday May 26th and Friday May 28th. On Wednesday, Ethan Funk will compete in the discus starting at 4:30 PM and then at 6:00 PM, Brandon Pollock will run in the prelims of the 110m hurdles and the 300m hurdles vying for a spot in the finals on Friday.     Congratulations Emilee Earl

    Congratulations to Emilee Earl for breaking her own junior high girls pole vault record at the SCAL Meet on Friday May 14 at Anna. Emilee cleared a height of 8′ 6.” The previous record of 8′ 3″ was set by Emilee at the St. Henry Quad Meet on Monday April 19th. Emilee originally broke the record with a vault of 8′ 2.25″ at the Fort Loramie Quad Meet on Monday April 5th. The previous record of 7′ 6″ was set by Ava Parin in 2016 and tied by Mariah Booher in 2017.
