The cross country team competed at the Piqua Invite Under the Lights Saturday. We had 12 runners set season best times in this highly competitive field of 46 teams. Congratulations to Brennan, Nate, Konner, Jayden, Elizabeth, Ava, Lyla, Paisley, Kaelyn, Gabriella, Tiffanie and Hayden.Congrats to our top finishers Johnathon Young, Ava Mowery, Callan Stapleton and Tiffanie Pleiman.

The Junior High and High School Student Council will have its first meeting of the year tomorrow, Friday, during Wildcat Time. We will meet in the Media Center. As a reminder, here are this year’s members:

Friday, September 11th is Patriot Day in the United States. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on our country. Houston students and staff: wear your red, white and blue to remember the victims who lost their lives, honor the first responders who worked to save lives and the heroes who stepped up to restore faith in humanity on that terrible day.

Dine to Donate is tonight at Chipotle from 5-9 PM to support the Cross Country Team. Please stop by the office for a flyer.
Cross Country competed at the Treaty City Invite over the weekend. The high school boys finished 17th with PR’s by Brennan Diehl and Nate Keating. Johnathon Young was the team’s top finisher. The high school girls finished 16th with the top finisher being Ava Mowery and a new PR for Paisley McDermit. Top finishers for junior high were Emma Davis and Callan Stapleton.

Lunch tomorrow will be blueberry pancakes. cheese omelet, hashbrown, fruit and milk.

The Chess Club will meet today until 4:15 PM in Mrs. Vondnhuevel’s room. All students in grades 9th and up are invited, no knowledge or skill in Chess needed.
Do you have interest in perhaps joining a branch of the military after high school? A representative from the Ohio National Guard will be in the Commons during lunch today to give information and answer questions.

Tomorrow, Thursday, September 3, the first 20 Houston students that come to the JH volleyball game against Jackson Center will be allowed entry for free. In addition, the first 20 students that go to the HS match against Jackson Center will have free admittance. The students’ entrance fee for those matches will be covered by one of our local businesses, Purpose Driven Motors.

Picture Day is on Thursday. All students please plan to have your picture taken even if you do not plan to purchase photos as these will be in the yearbook. UVCC students and CCP students can arrive as early as 7:00 AM to have your picture taken.
The Cross Country Team is having a dine to donate at Chipotle in Sidney on September 9th from 5-9 PM. Please see the website for more information or pick up a flyer in the office.
