Houston High School held the Fall Sports Awards Program on Tuesday, October 28th at 6:30 PM in the high school gym. Golf award winners were Laney White with the Low Stroke Average, Joey Leist received the Most Improved Award, and Alex Ginn was the Wildcat Award Winner. Volleyball award winners were Olivia Burks with the Best Offensive Player Award, Olivia Maier with the Best Defensive Player Award, and Lauryn Crim with the Wildcat Award. Cross country award winners for the boys team were Konner Pleiman as the Top Runner and Jayden Pleiman as Most Improved. Cross country award winners for the girls team were Ava Mowery as the Top Runner, Elizabeth Fogt as the Most Improved, and Kaelyn Richardson with the Wildcat Award. Several athletes were also recognized for earning other honors and awards. Receiving 1st Team SCAL were volleyball player Olivia Burks and cross country runner Ava Mowery. Olivia was also recognized with 1st Team All District 9. Golfer Laney White was recognized for being Sectional Champion. The varsity volleyball team was recognized for being District Runner-Ups. Golfers Luke Crim and Seth Merickel were recognized for receiving Academic All Ohio honors. Congratulations to all fall athletes!
