  • We will operate on a 2 hour early dismissal bell schedule today.

  • Students and staff – you should have received an email this morning requesting your help to collect addresses from our local veterans. These addresses will be used by our students to invite our veterans to our Veterans Day program on November 11. Please take the time to complete the information by next Thursday, October 16.

  • Freshman and Seniors-Jostens will be here Monday at 1:00 to meet with you for class rings and Graduation items.

  • Juniors- keep selling those chicken dinner tickets! You still have time to pick up extra tickets and keep selling. Please turn in any money you have to Mrs. Maier or Mrs. Mertz. You do not need to wait until October 20th- which is the LAST day to turn in money and unsold tickets.

  • Juniors and Seniors-Monday is the last day to reserve a spot on the bus to go to Miami University. Please email or talk to Mrs. Merickel so you can attend.

  • Spanish Circle would like to thank everyone who has signed up to donate blood. There are a handful of spots still available. Remember students, if you register to donate at least 3 times while in high school, you will earn the highly coveted “Red Cord” to wear at graduation. Please see Mrs. Chappie ASAP to sign up.

  • Athletic T-shirts are available to purchase on the schools website. If you purchase the t-shirt you can get into all home games this year for only $1.00

  • There will be a boys basketball meeting on October 13th during WT for any JH or HS boy interested in playing basketball this year. The meeting will be held in Coach Fledderjohann’s room.

We will tour the campus, have an admissions presentation, and eat a free buffet lunch at one of Miami’s dining halls. If you would like to sign up for a spot on the bus, please talk to or email Mrs. Merickel. The trip is October 21st and the deadline to sign up is October 13th.

  • Would you like to learn how to paint to make a flat surface look like real wood? Join Drama Club this Thursday at 5 to learn for yourself and help put finishing touches on the set of 12 Angry Jurors. Come dressed to get messy!

  • 4.5 million Americans will need a blood transfusion this year. Thanks to those of you who have already signed up to do your part to help them. Remember, any Houston student who is at least 16 years old or any staff member may participate. Sixteen year olds will need to have a signed permission slip on file. See Mrs. Chappie this week to volunteer.

  • Congratulations to this week’s Wildcats of the Week. These students have displayed our values of respect, success, and pride and are working to become the best version of themselves.   • This weekend the XC team ran at the Anna Rockets Invitational. Highlights include the following runners earning ribbons for placing in the top 50: Ava Mowery, Tiffanie Pleiman, Emma Davis, Hayden Lewis, Brennan Deihl, Grant Cleveland, and Johnathon Young. Our top runners were: HS Boy – Konner Pleiman, HS Girls – Ava Mowery, JH Boys – Brennan Deihl, and JH Girls – Tiffanie Pleiman. Season PRs were earned by Tiffanie Pleiman and Hayden Lewis. A career PR was earned by Nate Keating. Please come watch the team this weekend at Botkins for the county meet.

  • The summer-like weather on Saturday did not stop the XC team from a good performance at the Botkins Best in the West Invitational. There were 9 runners who earned a season PR. Tiffanie Pleiman, Paisley McDermit, Annabelle Harding, Johnathon Young, Zac Stephenson, Dominic Richardson, Nate Keating, Landon Heitman, and Brennan Diehl. Our top runner for the HS Boys was Konner Pleiman. The top runner for HS girls was Ava Mowery who medaled by placing 4th out of 82 runners. The top runner for JH Girls was Emma Davis. The top runner for the JH Boys was Brennan Diehl who placed 13th out of 102 runners. An additional congratulations goes out to Brennan Diehl because his run on Saturday was a career PR. He earned a great time of 11:56! Congrats Brennan and to all of the runners as well!
