  • High School Students: Homecoming is the weekend after we get back from break, so we are preparing some things before then. If you are planning to bring a student from another school to the Dance and have not gotten a date form, please pick one up in the main office. These are going to be due right after we get back, so it is encouraged that you get this taken care of before break.

  • Additionally, Homecoming Tickets will go on sale starting Monday. They are $7 each and can be purchased from Mrs. Merickel. Tickets will also be on sale when we get back from break.

  • Student Council members: a reminder that we will be meeting after school next week for some pre-decorating. If you can, please be here until 4:00 PM each day next week to help out! The more people we have early in the week, the fewer days it will take! See Mrs. Merickel with any questions.

  • Congratulations to Eliyah Hunter, Tiffanie Pleiman, and Cambrynn Rauch for being selected to perform in the 2026 OMEA District 11 honor band! These students will represent Houston during their concert on January 25th at Troy High School

  • Students interested in either technical theater or acting should attend an informational meeting during today’s Wildcat time in Mrs. Van Luvender’s room.
    If you are interested in acting and can not attend, make sure to get a form from her. Without a signed form at auditions, you will not be considered for a role.

  • 8th grade Power of the Pen writers need to turn in parental signature papers. Also, we are in need of one more writer – ask your friends and see if anyone is interested. Send them to Mrs. McClurg for information.

  • The UVCC will hold their Open House tonight from 5:30-7:00 PM. Be sure to plan to go to the Open House, along with a parent, and get your application in that evening. If you cannot make it to the Open House, you can apply online beginning at 6:00 PM Wednesday. Be sure to see Mrs. Merickel for help or with any questions.

  • Mr. Barlage’s 4th period class will report to Mrs. Van Luvender’s room.
