    Teacher Awards

    Congratulations to Gina Maier and Hunter Sheafer for receiving the Houston JH/HS Golden Teacher Award and the Elementary Golden Teacher Award respectively for the 2025-26 school year. Congratulations and happy retirement to Sara Roseberry, Lori Barhorst, and Peggy Roeth. Mrs. Roseberry was the elementary principal for Hardin-Houston Local School for 18 years. Mrs. Barhorst was a bus driver for 18 years for Hardin-Houston Local School. Mrs. Roeth served 20 years primarily as a teacher aide among other duties for Hardin-Houston Local School. Congratulations to all award winners.

    Spring Tournaments

    Baseball Tournament

    In the Sectional Tournament, the baseball team will be hosted by Triad on Wednesday May 20th at 5:00 PM. Admission is $10 for general admission and $5 for students and must be purchased online.     Houston Athletic Youth Camps

    Several Houston High School Athletic Programs will be conducting youth camps this summer. This is a wonderful opportunity to have your young student/athlete participate in team camps that will focus on sport specific skills and fundamentals. If you are interested in any of these events, please check out the dates and information below. Information for youth camps will be posted as soon as they are received.

    Hardin-Houston Boys Basketball Youth Camp
    When: May 26th-28th, 9:00-11:30 AM
    Who: Incoming Grades 3rd-7th
    Where: Houston High School Auxiliary Gym and Competition Gym
    Cost: $30 (t-shirt included) and is due by May 14th to guarantee a camp shirt

    FFA Greenhouse sale

    The FFA Greenhouse will be open on the following dates from 3:30-5:30 PM April 29th, and May 6th, 7th, and 8th and from 9:00 AM-2:00 PM on Saturday May 2nd and May 9th.
    A variety of plants are available in 4″ pots and a few hanging baskets. Vegetables and herbs are being provided this year by Kaia Kellersmith as part of her SAE.
    Available again this year is no-fade black mulch for $35 a yard. And, if you have your own pots, but need a soil refresh and flowers make sure to stop by to pick out your plants and our students will do the planting. Cost will include the plants and soil.     Teacher of the Year Nominations

    Attention parents, students, and staff, it’s that time of year to nominate deserving teachers for the Hardin-Houston Golden Teacher award. Each nomination form allows you to nominate one elementary teacher (K-6) and one junior high/high school teacher (7-12).
